Brooke Hilton is the President of A Way Out Recovery Solutions, a multi-media communications company that helps individuals with mental health disorders and/or substance use disorders find individualized treatment solutions. She is also a passionate writer, mental health advocate, and a 2019 Master of Social Work candidate at the University of Southern California, majoring in Social Change and Innovation. Brooke plans to use her clinical education and financial acumen to transform the dual diagnosis treatment industry. She is a supporter of The Recovery Movement and believes that “recovery is a transformative process, one that is less about returning to a former self and more about discovering who one can become” (Department of Health and Human Services, 2005, p. 20).
An avid writer, Brooke has struggled with bipolar 1 disorder and substance use disorder for over 15 years, she is sober and takes medication on a daily basis to manage her illnesses. She is featured vlogger for BP Magazine and a contributing author at MindBodyGreen, Thrive Global, and The Mighty. Writing is a powerful way to cope, and Brooke wants to share her experiences to help raise awareness and combat stigma. Previously, she worked on Wall Street at companies like Wells Fargo, BlackRock, and Houlihan Lokey. She pursued an MBA from New York University in 2010 and a BA from the University of North Carolina in 2003.
Brooke believes in a holistic approach to wellness - sleep, healthy eating, medication, friends, family, purpose, God - she believes you need it all to stay balanced and maintain a healthy, happy lifestyle.
